Ranveer, who will live the life of Kapil Dev on the silver screen in the upcoming movie ‘83’ has shared the poster of the film. Ranveer had also shared the logo of the film a few hours earlier. The poster shows Tahir Raj Bhasin, who is portraying the role of Sunil Gavaskar playing a cover drive, one of Gavaskar’s signature shot. The fans animatedly reacted to the poster, and comments such as ‘Super,’ ‘lit’ and ‘Eagerly waiting’ were frequently posted on the poster.
83’ is a movie that will manifest the story of India’s 1983 World Cup triumph on the big screen. The film has an ensemble cast, with the real-life wife of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, also depicting the role of his reel life wife. She will play the role of Romi Dev. Pankaj Tripathi will portray the life of PR Man Singh, manager of the national team at the 1983 World Cup, whereas Boman Irani will portray the role of Farokh Engineer. Mohinder Amarnath, the man of the match in the final, will be played on the screen by Saquib Saleem. The Punjabi stars Harrdy Sandhu and Ammy Virk will depict the roles of Madan Lal and Balwinder Sandhu, respectively. Sahil Khattar will play the role of Indian wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani wherein the Tamililian star Jiva will play the role of explosive opener Kris Srikkanth.
The involvements of players:
Many real-life heroes of 1983 triumph have got involved in talking to players. Mohinder Amarnath, who arguably was the most critical player of the tournament, advised Saquib Salim before the shooting of the movie started. Mohinder said, “The most valuable piece of advice which Jimmy sir gave me is to be calm and focus on the game. There was something in the way he said, which has stayed with me.” Saquib shared a video in which he said that he started meditating to stay calm and to avoid getting hyper.
Rajiv Mehra, the assistant of Balwinder Sandhu, also assisted the team in their training. The Kabir Singh film 83 is set to release on 10th April 2020.
