The inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League was won by Islamabad United. They clinched the tournament in 2016 by thrashing Quetta Gladiators by six wickets in the final, which was played in Dubai.
PSL 2017 saw Peshawar Zalmi emerge as the winners of the tournament. The Peshawar based franchise thumped Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs in the summit clash in Lahore. Notably, the second edition of the tournament was played in Pakistan.
The winners of the inaugural edition of the PSL, Islamabad United, asserted their authority when they for the second time won the tournament in 2018. They achieved that feat by defeating defending champions Peshawar Zalmi in the finals in a nail-bitter by three wickets.
After reaching the final for the two seasons of the PSL, Quetta Gladiators finally had their hands on the trophy in 2019. They pounded Peshawar Zalmi in the final by eight wickets in Karachi to win their maiden title.
Karachi Kings won the PSL 2020. The Imad Wasim-led side reached the final for the first time and made sure that they didn’t let the opportunity fall. The Karachi based franchise defeated Lahore Qalandars in the final in Karachi to lift their first-ever title.
The most recent edition, PSL 2021, was won by Multan Sultans. The Multan based franchise defeated Peshawar Zalmi, who reached the final for the third time, by 47 runs in final to win their maiden title.
