Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje on their way to the Delhi Capitals camp from the SA vs PAK ODI Series

Rabada and Nortje to join Delhi Capitals: In spite of the ongoing three-match ODI series between South Africa and Pakistan, the fast bowling duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje will miss out the 3rd ODI as they look to join the Delhi Capitals camp for IPL 2021. With the 14th edition of the IPL on course, the best of players from around the globe will compete for the title starting April 9.

Both Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje were the pick of the bowlers for the Delhi Capitals camp as well. Rabada secured the Purple Cap last season with 30 wickets from the 17 matches, while, Nortje on his debut season bagged 22 wickets from the 16 appearances.

However, in the three-match ODI series between South Africa and Pakistan, it’s Anrich Nortje who was South Africa’s gun bowler when it came to picking wickets at crunch intervals.

Talking about the series so far, both South Africa and Pakistan are currently on level terms by 1-1. The first match was won by Pakistan on the final delivery and three wickets in hand while chasing 275. However, the Proteas bounced back in the very next ODI, as they registered a 17 runs win. Kagiso Raba picked up two wickets from the two games, while, it was Anrich Nortje who stood out with seven wickets. However, with both premium fast bowlers opting out of the 3rd ODI, the South Africans could end up struggling.  The 3rd and final ODI between South Africa and Pakistan will be played on 7 April.

Delhi Capitals Team 2021

The Capitals made it to the finals of the IPL in the previous edition for the very first time in their history. In spite of their captain Shreyas Iyer getting ruled out due to a shoulder injury, Delhi Capitals still have the depth in quality which can make them go the distance. Under the captaincy of young Rishabh Pant, the Capitals will once again be one of the teams to watch this season.

The first match for of the campaign for Delhi will be against three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 10, at the Wankhede Stadium.
