KKR have managed to win in an emphatic manner against the 3 time champions Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs in their 5th league game in IPL 2020. KKR have managed to get their playing combination right as they decided to overlook Sunil Narine as an opener after persisting him with no returns in their first 4 games.
The impressive Rahul Tripathi opened the innings for KKR for the first time in this tournament and made a clear cut statement right from the word go. He was timing the ball pretty well with the help of some poor deliveries and scored a belligerent 81 runs out of KKR's 167 runs.
The owner of KKR, Shah Rukh Khan was spotted in the ground cheering for his team who didn’t disappoint their owner one bit. Rahul Tripathi was adjudged the man of the match for his match winning knock and Shah Rukh Khan was seen shouting, “Rahul, naam toh suna hoga,” from the movie Dil Toh Pagal Hai that got released in 1997.
KKR won the game without any significant contributions from their star players like Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan
KKR were down and out after the first 10 overs of CSK's batting innings but Dinesh Karthik had 7 overs of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine in tact to choke MS Dhoni's super kings and the spinners didn’t disappoint Dinesh Karthik as CSK choked and gifted the victory to KKR.
The spin twins of KKR bowled 7 overs between them and picked 2 wickets for 59 runs which turned out to be a decisive factor in the game. CSK have lost their 4th game in the 6 matches that they have played and they are in a precarious situation at this point in time but these kind of situations are not new to them as they have the successful captain in MS Dhoni who can turn things back in no time.
