RCB 2023: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction got concluded in Mumbai on February 13. A total of 87 players were bought by the five teams namely, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz. 30 overseas players were picked up and the remaining were Indians.

Smriti Mandhana, the Indian vice-captain, emerged to be the most expensive player, as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought her for INR 3.4 crore. Moreover, speaking about the other stars on the RCB’s board, they bought Richa Ghosh for INR 1.9 crore, Elyse Perry for INR 1.7 crore, and Renuka Singh for INR 1.5 crore. Overall, the RCB now has two of the top five most expensive Indian deals from the WPL auction.

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE (RCB) PLAYING 11:

  • Mandhana is most likely to lead the RCB in the inaugural WPL season 2023. She will open the innings with the explosive Kiwi all-rounder Sophie Devine. Devine can bowl at a medium pace.
  • Heather Knight, the English skipper may bat at number three, followed by the Aussie great Elyse Perry, Indian keeper-batter Richa Ghosh, and Disha Kasat in the constructing the RCB’s middle order; Perry will be a part of the side’s pace unit. Kasat is a Vidarbha batter and was the highest run-getter in the Senior Women’s T20 trophy.
  • Further, Kanika Ahuja can spin the ball with Preeti Bose, who is a left-arm offie.
    Megan Schutt, Renuka Singh, and Komal Zanzad may feature in the starting 11 together, leading the pace unit. More to the point, Zanzad is a left-arm pacer.
