In a crucial news update, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be without their their premier pace bowler atleast in the first few matches of their Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) campaign. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be playing the Mumbai Indians (MI) in their first match of IPL 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 2 April, 2023. While coming into the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, RCB are still searching for their first-ever title victory.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have sustained a huge blow as their overseas fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will not be playing today’s RCB vs MI IPL 2023 match. Hazlewood missed the recent India tour and will not be available for the RCB as well due to an Achilles (heel) issue and in fact, he is yet to reach India. Thus, he will be taking some time before getting match fit for IPL 2023. During the IPL 2022 season, Josh ended up taking as many as 20 wickets from a total of 12 games at an economy of 8.11. However, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have the England pace duo of David Wiley and Reece Topley in their squad who have the ability to pick wickets at regular intervals in T20 cricket.
1. Faf du Plessis (C) 2. Virat Kohli 3. Michael Bracewell 4. Glenn Maxwell 5. Shahbaz Ahmed 6. Dinesh Karthik (wk) 7. Karn Sharma 8. Akash Deep 9. Reece Topley 10. Harshal Patel 11. Mohammed Siraj
