The massive breaking news development coming from the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) camp is that their premier overseas spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is not available for selection in their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season against the Mumbai Indians (MI) being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Royal Challengers Bangalore ended up losing the Qualifier 2 at the hands of Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2022 and they performed really well in the group stage of the T20 competition as well.
It will be big setback for the Royal Challengers Bangalore that their premier leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga will not be part of the RCB Playing XI in this RCB vs MI IPL 2023 match. The right-arm leggie is currently part of the Sri Lanka T20I team playing a three-match T20I series in New Zealand and he will be available in IPL 2023 only after 8 April, 2023. While coming in the IPL with a huge price tag of INR 10.25 Crore, Hasaranga performed amazingly well for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022 where he also finished as the second highest wicket-taker with a total of 26 wickets from as many as 16 matches at a brilliant economy of less than 8.
