It was only the 3rd game in Sharjah in this edition of IPL and we saw 3 200 plus scores in each of the game with one game beating the other in terms of highest first innings score. The match was nothing but a run feast with smaller boundaries and over 400 runs were scored between the two teams which turned out to be a massive entertainment for the cricket fans.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bowl first which came as no surprise as literally no captain wants to bat first apart from David Warner after winning the toss. Delhi Capitals were off to a steady start by Sharjah standards and Shikhar Dhawan gave the much needed push by hitting two identical maximums in the 5th over their innings bowled by Sunil Narine

Rishabh Pant lost his cool

The stage was set for the rockstar Rishabh Pant to showcase his hitting range and ability. Delhi Capitals were 129 runs for the loss of 2 wickets when Rishabh Pant walked into the crease. He had one job to do and that was smashing the ball out of the park. He started his innings cautiously but teed off once he got his eye in. He hit his first boundary in the 9th ball he faced and went on the score 30 runs in the last 9 balls he faced. He was eventually dismissed by Andre Russell for a swashbuckling 38 of 17 balls and he was clearly upset with himself on getting out.

A blinder from Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer played an innings that he would never forget in his lifetime. He scored 88 runs from 38 balls including 7 fours and 6 sixes. He helped his team to reach a winning total on this ground. It was never an easy ground to defend and no total is safe on this ground but DC bowlers were excellent to restrict KKR to 210 and ensured that they fell short by 18 runs in the end.
