Road Safety World Series: India Legends Squad Announced

Indian Legends squad for the much awaited Road safety World Series has been announced. As announced earlier India’s greatest ever cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar will lead the India legends side which boasts of prominent world class players including the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and much more.

What is Road Safety world series?

The Road Safety World Series is a T20 tournament that has been organised to promote road safety. Professional Management Group and the Road Safety Cell of the Maharashtra government are the organizers of the much awaited league.

The league will feature five teams — India Legends, Australia Legends, South Africa Legends, Sri Lanka Legends and the West Indies Legends.

India legends team announced

India Legends Team : 

Sachin Tendulkar (C), V Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Sanjay Bangar, Munaf Patel, M Kaif, P Ojha, Sairaj Bahutule, Sameer Dighe (WK).

South africa and Sri Lanka legends team has also been announced.

Schedule 

The tournament will have a total of 11 matches in which the teams will play at least once against each other and the final will be  played on March 22 at CCI Ground, Brabourne Stadium. MCA Stadium in Pune, Wankhede Stadium and Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai will host the other matches of the tournament.

It will be telecasted on Colours Cineplex on TV and on Voot app on mobiles. JioTV will also be live streaming the Unacademy Road Safety World Series starting from 7th March.

Legends back in action

Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, and Zaheer Khan will accompany Sachin in the India Legends side. Shivnarine Chandrapaul and Brian Lara has signed up for the West Indies Legend, while the likes of Brad Hodge and Brett Lee will represent Australia Legends. Prominent names from Sri Lanka and South Africa Legends include Tillakaratne Dilshan, Ajantha Mendis, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Jonty Rhodes.

“There has been a lot of excitement towards this tournament. People were eagerly waiting for the schedule and the tickets. I am extremely glad for the fans, and I am sure they will come in large numbers to cheer for the legends and also support this important cause of creating awareness towards road safety in the country,” stated the RTO Chief.
