Who won today’s IPL match?: The 58th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 took place between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. It was an important clash for both the teams, more importantly for DC from whom it was a do or die clash. They did rise on the occasion and displayed a wonderful all-round performance to beat RR by 8 wickets and keep themselves in the contention for playoffs.

Asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals lost both their openers Jos Buttler (7) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (19) early. But a crucial 53 runs stand between R Ashwin (50) and Devdutt Padikkal (48) made sure that RR post a fighting total of 160 runs on the board. For DC, Chetan Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures of 2/23.

Chasing the target, DC had a horrendous start as they lost KS Bharat for duck. But it was a blessing in disguise for them as Australian duo of David Warner (52*) and Mitchell Marsh (89) notched up best partnership for DC this year to take his side home. The duo scored 144 runs for the second wicket before skipper Rishabh Pant came out and took his side home with 8 wickets to spare.

Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was awarded Player of the Match in today’s encounter against Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai. The all-rounder played a crucial part in his side’s must-win encounter with both bat and a ball. With the ball, he took 2 wickets in Yashasvi Jaiswal and R Ashwin. If this was not enough, he played one of his finest knocks in IPL and scored 89 runs to take his side home. His knock was laced with 5 fours and 7 sixes.
