An all-round performance delivered Rajasthan Royals a comfortable win against Sunrisers Hyderabad and earned them two crucial points in the Indian Premier League 2019. With this win RR have kept their play-off hopes alive but have also made the points table complicated with several teams still in the contention for the first four places.

Pandey guides SRH to 160 runs

In the absence of Jonny Bairstow, skipper Kane Williamson opened the innings for SRH but was out in just the fourth over. But then Manish Pandey played a stunning innings and added 75 runs with David Warner who once again looked good for another big score in IPL season 12.

Oshane Thomas brought curtains on Warner’s (37 off 32 balls) show in the 13th over and then Pandey (61 off 36 balls) followed soon as SRH witnessed a batting collapse.

Jaydev Unadkat removed Shakib Al Hasan and Deepak Hooda on successive deliveries in the 17th over while Varun Aaron chipped in with two wickets. Thus SRH managed just 160 runs in their 20 overs.

Rahane, Livingstone take Rajasthan closer to win

The pertaining question before the match started was how would RR cope up with Jos Buttler’s absence as he was their stand-out performer so far in IPL 2019.

But Liam Livingstone ensured that Buttler’s absence wasn’t felt as he scored 44 off 26 balls and slammed 78 runs for the first wicket with Ajinkya Rahane (39 off 34 balls).
