In the Match 52 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have registered a spectacular 4-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The nail-biting thrilling encounter went down the wire where the 21-year-old Abdul Samad smacked an incredible six on the last ball to help the Sunrisers Hyderabad chase down a massive target of 215 keep their IPL 2023 playoffs hopes very much alive.
Who won Man of the Match in today’s IPL match?
For the Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler smacked a blistering knock of 95 runs to help his team reach a massive first innings total of 214 runs. On the other hand, Abdul Samad also played an exciting knock of 17 runs off 7 balls including the winning hit for a six off the last ball. But it was Glenn Phillips’ unbelievable three back-to-back sixes in the 19th over that actually brought the game alive and thus, he was presented the Man of the Match award in today’s RR vs SRH match.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Rajasthan Royals have posted a mammoth score of 214 for 2 in their quota of 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal got out after scoring 35 runs off just 18 balls but then the duo of Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson played attacking cricket in the middle-overs stage and stitched a fabulous partnership of 138 runs. Buttler smashed an excellent innings of 95 runs off just 59 balls that consisted of 10 fours and 4 sixes while Samson also notched up an unbeaten knock of 66 runs off only 38 deliveries that included 5 sixes and 4 fours.
During the big run-chase, the Sunrisers Hyderabad got a solid platform at the top with a fine opening partnership of 51 runs. Abhishek Sharma scored his second half-century of the ongoing T20 tournament while Rahul Tripathi also played a vital knock of 47 runs off just 29 balls. Towards the end, Glenn Phillips smashed a fantastic cameo of 25 runs off just 7 deliveries that suddenly brought the game alive. However, Rajasthan Royals then once again drowned their chances as Sandeep Sharma bowled a no-ball which had to be the final delivery and they should have won the game till then after which Abdul Samad smacked a brilliant six off the last legal delivery guiding Sunrisers Hyderabad to an incredible victory.
