England have copped an injury blow ahead of the 1st T20I against New Zealand on 1 November. All-rounder Joe Denly has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Denly rolled his right ankle during fielding practice at Hagley Oval on Thursday. The middle-order batsman limped off for treatment after sustaining the injury while taking an outfield catch.
Denly is likely to be replaced by Somerset all-rounder Lewis Gregory or Tom Banton. In addition, Pat Brown and Sam Curran are also set to make T20I debuts.
