Shoaib Akhtar the only bowler I was scared of: Sehwag

Sehwag says Akhtar could hit the shoes or the helmet

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has revealed that Shoaib Akhtar was the only bowler he was scared of while batting. He said that he feared Akhtar because the pace bowler was known to hit the batsman’s shoes or the helmet. The Indian opener also admitted that Akhtar did hit his helmet on several occasions. At the same time, he said it was fun to smash the Pakistan bowler for runs.

2007 T20 world cup and 2011 world cup, favorite moment in cricket: Sehwag 

Sehwag opened up about his cricket career in a interview he gave to an online news portal. When asked about his favorite cricket moment, the Indian opener said that the 2007 T20 world cup and the 2011 cricket world cup are the best moments in his career.

The right-hand batsman noted that India had a very young team for the 2007 world cup and nobody expected India to win in South Africa.  While speaking about the 2011 world cup, he pointed out that until that time no other team had won a world cup while hosting the tournament.

Afridi says bowling to Sehwag was difficult

The Indian opener was joined by Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi in the interview. When he was asked about the batsman he feared the most, the leg-spinner said that he was not scared of anyone but it was difficult to bowl against Sehwag. Afridi said that he was on backfoot when Sehwag batted as he was worried that Sehwag might him a four. He also noted that the Indian opener was a big wicket.

The Pakistan cricketer said that the 2009 T20 world cup was his favorite moment in cricket as during that time the team was struggling. According to Afridi, that win lifted the people of Pakistan and also the team.
