Smriti Mandhana WPL Salary: Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, created a buzz this Monday as she became the highest-paid player during the player auction of the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL). The event, held in Mumbai, saw Mandhana being bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping sum of Rs. 3.4 crores. Additionally, the franchise also bought Australian star all-rounder Ellyse Perry for INR 1.7 crores.

While fans congratulated Mandhana and Perry for fetching such high bids, some fans took the opportunity to poke fun at Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who earns significantly less in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) than Mandhana’s WPL salary. Babar Azam’s PSL salary is 2.3 Crores in Indian rupees, whereas, Mandhana will be earning INR 3.4 Crore in the WPL.
