SRH vs DC: Why is Rahul Tripathi Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match?

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the toss and were asked to field by DC skipper David Warner. After the decision of David Warner, the SRH team management substituted Rahul Tripathi to include an extra seamer. This means, Tripathi can be slotted into the eleven when SRH comes out to bat in the second innings. Check what Sunrisers’ skipper Aiden Markram said at the toss,

“We would have bowled first, not too unhappy. The surface shouldn’t get worse. It’s an important game for us, we need to start getting points on the board. We are looking forward to the challenge. Should be a good game of cricket. There’s one change within the sixteen. Nitish Reddy gets into the 16 – bowling all-rounder for us. In terms of our batting, it has been up and down but we’ve made a conscious decision to pick a top six/seven that we are going to hopefully back for the remaining games. Looks good, pretty similar to the Mumbai game. Plenty runs there, hopefully we can deliver a good performance.”

Rahul Tripathi IPL 2023 Price

Rahul Tripathi, a seasoned IPL player who had previously played for RPSG, KKR, and RR, was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping Rs 8.5 crore at the 2022 IPL auction after a bidding war with Chennai Super Kings. While CSK and KKR were also interested in acquiring his services, SRH’s deeper pockets helped them secure his signature. He was retained by the franchise for the same amount in the following year.
