SRH vs KKR

SRH Playing 11: The 2016 IPL winners Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are all geared up to face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 3rd match of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This will be the second match of the tournament that would be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai after the season opener was also played at the same venue. However, the SRH team management have an uphill task in front of them as they have a whole lot of quality overseas options to choose from for their first game against KKR.

SRH Playing 11

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner and star leg-spinner Rashid Khan are the two obvious overseas picks in their playing XI. However, there are reports coming in that West Indies big-hitting all-rounder Jason Holder is yet to finish his mandatory quarantine period. Also, reckoning the slowness of the Chennai track, Kane Williamson is likely to slot in as he has the ability to rotate the strike in the middle-overs. It will be a tough choice to make between Jonny Bairstow and Mohammad Nabi and the former could partner David Warner at the top with Shahbaz Nadeem coming in the frame as the second spinner.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have already signed England opener Jason Roy as replacement for Mitchell Marsh who earlier pulled out of the season due to bio-bubble fatigue. However, it will be really difficult for Roy to fit into the starting XI in the first half of the tournament. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s return in a brilliant form is a huge boost for SRH as he has been their key pacer since his association with the franchise. Also, KKR captain Eoin Morgan has recovered from his finger injury which he sustained during the recent India ODI series and he will be leading the side in this game.
