IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians (MI) are the odds-on favourite to win the IPL 2021 season. Again. This is an easy call, in every possible way. Rohit Sharma-led team is the strongest and the most balanced outfit in the IPL at the moment. They are the team with a solid and beefy aura of invincibility circling around them, something which Chennai Super Kings (CSK) used to have before troubles hit them hard last season.
That said, there are quite a few teams who can stop the MI juggernaut with Sunrisers Hyderabad being one of those outfits that have a recipe to outshine the defending champions.
Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra backed SRH to qualify for the playoffs. In fact, Chopra added that SRH could be the first team to measure up to expectations in IPL 2021.
“They are definitely qualifying,” Chopra said during a video posted on his YouTube channel.
“They (SRH) can also finish at either no-1 or n-2 in IPL 2021 standings. They are the only team that can challenge Mumbai Indians this season, if you compare both the teams on paper, player to player. I think this is going to be a great season for SRH.”
Mumbai Indians are set to start the defence of their title when they open the IPL 2021 campaign against Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9.
SRH will be in action against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 11, while the first head-to-head game between MI and SRH will be on April 17.
