Who won today’s IPL match?: The 54th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both the teams were in a need of a win to make their case strong for the playoffs. But it the was the Faf du Plessis-led side who were better on the day and displayed staggering display in all three departments to win the match by 67 runs to register their seventh of the season.

Batting first, after winning the toss, RCB had a poor start as they Virat Kohli for a golden duck. But skipper Faf du Plessis (73*) and Rajat Patidar (48) and Glenn Maxwell (30) played a crucial knock for their side to kept them in the game. A brutal finish by Dinesh Karthik (30* in 8 balls) in the end helped RCB post a total of 192 runs on the board.

Chasing the target, SRH lost both openers in the first over and after that kept kept losing wickets at the one end. Rahul Tripathi held one end and scored a sensational half-century for his side. But he failed to get the desired support from the others as RCB on account of  Wanindu Hasaranga’s five-wicket haul bundled out SRH for just 125 runs to win the match by 67 runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spinner Wanindu Hasaranga was awarded Player of the Match in today’s encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The Sri Lanka returned with the exceptional figures of 5/18 in his quota of four overs and single handedly won the match for his side with the bowling. He removed the likes of Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, J Suchith, Shashank Singh and Umran Malik and helped his side bundle out the opposition for 125 runs and register their seventh win of the season.
