Ravi Shastri has no qualifications as a coach.Lost South Africa and about to loose England Test Series. Kohli with his ego kicked Kumble who is well respected and a winning champion for India. The entire team surrendered themselves to England . What a shame!!!!— Srinivasa Pokala (@santoshipokala1) August 13, 2018

If Ravi shastri had his share of fun , plz start looking at world no.1 batting as England no.7 can hit century, but our star batting lineup couldn’t .@RaviShastriOfc @BCCI— Ashish Kumar Singh (@Ashishorbit) August 13, 2018

Great batsman doesn’t necessarily mean good leaders. Likewise Virat Kohli, failed completely as a captain in this test series. And Ravi Shastri, the less we say, the better. #INDvsENG #Virat #Shastri— Pratibha Mehra (@pratibhasays) August 13, 2018

If Anyone Is Sacked From This Indian Team, It Must Begin With Coach Ravi Shastri. We Miss You Anil Kumble. #INDvsENG #INDvENG #ENGvIND— Sir Jadeja fan (@SirJadeja) August 12, 2018

India were confident of improving their record in England before landing on the English soil. They kept the promise and gave a tough fight to the hosts in T20I series and ODI series. While India won the T20I series, they lost the ODI series.
After completion of thrilling limited-overs series and T20I series, people were eagerly waiting for India to take on English men for a five-match Test series. High hopes and a lot of expectations were complimented by strong belief that this time India might rewrite the history books and avenge their 2014 Test series loss against England.
In the first Test at Edgbaston, backing on Virat Kohli’s sensational century, India managed to give a tough fight to England. Although they lost the match, the flames of hopes were still burning that India might emerge victorious at Lord’s to level the series.
However, the dampened pitch and cloudy weather washed-off all the hopes completely as Indian batsmen continued their torrid form and lost the match by 159 runs and an innings.
India could not even put up a strong fight as England bowlers ripped Indian batting line-up as hapless India could only post 107 runs in their and 130 runs in the second innings.
Anderson claimed 9 wickets in total and the veteran pacer received a great support from his team mate Stuart Broad, who picked four wickets in second innings.
The Twitter verse was fuming over the humiliating defeat and Ravi Shastri, team India’s head coach, was also in the eye of storm as he was also blamed for India’s defeat. Team India even failed to give a tough fight to the hosts and the willows of the Indian batsmen remained silent at Lord’s too.
In a press conference before team India flew to England, Ravi Shastri had spoken that India was optimistic about winning in England, but unfortunately, those words haven’t come true yet.
Here’s how Twitter lashed out at Shastri:
