These players will miss next Ranji Trophy match

The third round of Ranji Trophy starts from November 20, Friday. While most of the teams placed in Elite Group A and B are eyeing their maiden win of the tournament, a couple of big names are set to miss the fixtures for their respective sides.
Ashwin, Ishant given rest
With an eye on team India’s only four-day fixture in Australia ahead of the Test series, BCCI has asked R Ashwin and Ishant Sharma to take rest and opt out of the Ranji round starting from Friday. Both the test specialists will fly out to Australia on November 24 to take part in the practice game which is scheduled to start from November 29. The first of the fourth test match is scheduled to begin from December 06.
Ishant Sharma who has fully recovered from ankle injury featured for Delhi against Himachal Pradesh in the opening fixture while R Ashwin didn’t play the second game for Tamil Nadu and has been rested from the third game also.

M Shami permitted to play
M Shami, who is another Test regular for India, has been permitted to play for Bengal against Kerala with a condition of bowling not more than 15-17 overs in an innings. BCCI wishes to ensure that Shami is not overworked and arrives fully fit in Australia.
According to a BCCI official-
“Ishant and Ashwin are experienced bowlers and they need to be preserved. Shami wanted some game time but Ishant is looked at someone who has to do a lot of bowling in Australia,”

Navdeep Saini is another player who will be missing Delhi’s next game as the right arm-medium fast is currently in New Zealand for the three first-class games between India A and New Zealand A. Along with him, Karun Nair and Ravi Kumar Samarth will also miss their next match for Karnataka as both the players have been picked for the second and third unofficial test between India A and New Zealand A.
