Thisara Perera hit eight sixes en route to his record-breaking inning in Sri Lanka List-A cricket on Sunday. But the record for the fastest fifty in Sri Lanka’s domestic circuit is held by allrounder Kaushalya Weeraratne, who cracked a 12-ball fifty for Ragana Cricket Club in November 2005. During that innings, Weeraratne hit five sixes off a single over.

Thisara Perera Batting: A Player With Many Record For Sri Lanka

Batting with consistency may have always been a problem for the 31-year-old Thisara Perera, but when he is on the song and feels the ball on his bat, he is as dangerous a batsman as anyone in the cricket world. Perera can hit the ball out of the park at will.

Perera holds many records for Sri Lanka in white-ball cricket.

  • He is the first Sri Lankan bowler to register a hattrick against Pakistan.
  • Perera also holds the record for Sri Lanka for most runs made by a batsman while batting at no-9 or lower (80 unbeaten).
  • Perera hit the fastest century against New Zealand when he smashed a 57-ball century in 2019.

Thisara Perera IPL: Perera has represented various franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His first IPL experience came with Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and he went on to play for six more teams in India’s cash-rich T20 league. But he was inconsistent with his production and failed to nail down a regular spot in any of the teams he played in the IPL. That’s the main reason why he was not picked up by the teams in the auction with his last IPL contract with now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016.
