Boult leaves Pakistan in tatters

Pakistan were responding to New Zealand’s score of 266 runs at Abu Dhahi when the New Zealand pacer wrecked Pakistan’s top-order.

On the third ball of the third over, Boult castled opening batsman Fakhar Zaman with a lovely fullish delivery that came into the batsman and knocked out his stumps after brushing his pads.

On the very next ball, Pakistan’s most-important batsman Babar Azam got out for a golden duck on an extremely poor shot. The right-hand batsman flirted with a full and wide delivery which he ideally had no business with and offered a simple catch to Ross Taylor standing at wide slips.

The hat-trick ball was a stunning delivery as it completely outfoxed senior batsman Mohammad Hafeez. The ball angled into the batsman after pitching on the leg-stump and wrapped on Hafeez’s pad catching him in front of the stumps.

With three wickets in three balls, Boult reduced Pakistan to a pulp and laid the foundation for New Zealand’s win.
