Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur kicked-off the women’s World T20 in an emphatic fashion by slamming an aggressive hundred. The right-hand batter came out all guns blazing and hammered 103 runs off just 51 balls.

This performance has taken the cricket world by frenzy and Twitter is in awe of India’s dashing daredevil captain.

Former and current cricketers and fans across the globe tweeted their appreciation and hailed Kaur.

Kaur sets the foundation for India’s emphatic win

The Indan captain’s power-packed knock propelled India to a mammoth score of 194 runs which was too much to handle for the New Zealand team. The Kiwis scored only 160 runs as India won the first match of their world cup campaign by 34 runs.

The Indian captain came to the crease when India had lost three wickets inside six overs. But then she arrested the damage and took India to safe shores. In the death overs, the right-hand batter changed gears and unleashed her flurry.  She was literally unstoppable at some phases in the innings and it seemed like there was no way to get her out.

The Indian captain smashed seven fours and eight sixes in her 51-ball knock and scored the first hundred by an Indian woman in T20 Internationals. She was finally caught behind on the penultimate ball of the innings but by then the damage was already been done.

18-year-old Jemimah Rodrigues was impressive too as she played the second fiddle to Kaur and scored 59 runs off 45 balls. In the bowling department Poonam Yadav and Dayalan Hemalatha picked three wickets apiece.
