It was also scheduled to be hosted by Sri Lanka in June 2021, but it was once again postponed. However, it’s happening this year and instead of Sri Lanka, the UAE will be hosting this event.

    T20 World Cup 2022

Another major cricket event fans shouldn’t miss is the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It’s the eighth edition of this T20I and like many sports tournaments, this was also impacted by the pandemic. Originally, this was supposed to happen in July 2020 in India.

However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) ended up deciding on moving the tournament this year with Australia as the host. This event will run from October 16 to September 13, 2022, with 16 teams participating in a total of 45 matches.

Here are all the teams playing this year:

Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India, Namibia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, and Zimbabwe.

    Big Bash 2022-2023

Right before the year ends is the start of the new season of the Big Bash League (BBL) of the KFC BBL (sponsorship reasons). This is one of the biggest Australian T20 leagues and this year, it is expected to run from December 13, 2022, to February 4, 2023.

We say it’s expected because no official schedule is announced just yet. The BBL also includes a women’s competition. It’s also something to watch on the holidays because it’s a tournament that has a Christmas Day match.

The tournament has double-round robin and knockout formats. A total of eight teams will participate and the current champions are the Perth Scorchers.
