UPW 2023 Playing 11: Full Squad of UP Warriorz (WPL)

UP Warriorz (UPW) Playing 11: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is nearing its historic start. The first game of the tournament is scheduled to be played on March 4. However, the Uttar Pradesh Warriorz (UPW) will commence their campaign on March 5, against Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The game will commence at 7:30 PM IST.

Other than these two, there’re three more teams in the tournament, namely Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians. A total of 22 matches will be played and all the games will be played at the DY Patil Stadium or the Brabourne Stadium-CCI in Mumbai.

In the end, the Eliminator game will be played on March 24 at the DY Patil Stadium, while the Final will be hosted by the Brabourne Stadium-CCI on March 26.

Speaking about the UP Warriorz (UPW) in the auction, particularly, they bought 16 players, out of which six are overseas. Their most expensive signing is the Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma. The franchise bought her for INR 2.6 crore. The franchise made their second-most expensive signing for overseas cricketer Sophie Ecclestone. Ecclestone is worth INR 1.8 crore.

• The Warriorz’s middle order may comprise Kiran Navgire, Tahlia McGrath, and Deepti Sharma. Navgire is an explosive top-order batter, while McGrath ipace-bowlingling all-rounder.
• Further, Devika Vaidya, Sophie Ecclestone, and Rajeshwari Gayakwad could be the other offies on the board. However, Vaidya is an all-rounder and can bat really well.
