Vijay recovering from thumb injury

The young all-rounder had injured his thumb and it had kept him away from the action for a long time. He had injured his thumb in the match against South Africa A while representing India A.

Since then he hasn’t played any competitive cricket and couldn’t feature in the remaining matches of India A. Shankar also missed out on the first two games of Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare trophy but now he is set to make a comeback.

Tamil Nadu in strong form

The Dinesh Karthik-led Tamil Nadu have performed well in the tournament so far. They have played two matches and have won both of them courtesy of a strong show from skipper Karthik who has scored 52* and 95 in the two outings.

Meanwhile Bihar has had a disappointing start to the tournament so far and they are currently at the bottom of the table in Group C. They have played one match and lost it by a huge margin.

Shankar is a solid batsman in the middle-order and has the ability to change gears whenever needed.
