The third ODI between India and Sri Lanka  was just another game where Virat Kohli oozed his class yet another time and smashed a staggering century to inch closer to the record of most centuries in the 50-over format.

Most Hundreds in ODI: Virat Kohli scores his 46th ODI ton in the third ODI against Sri Lanka 

Indian batter Virat Kohli has finally founded his mojo back after a lean patch. The right-hander has made sure that he make mass comeback as he smashed his 46th ODI ton in the third game against Sri Lanka.

It was a sensational innings by him as he smashed his third hundred in the last four innings that he has played in this format. Kohli looked very optimistic right from ball 1 and played staggering strokes all over the ground. With his ton, he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar with the most ODI hundreds at home.

Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 166 runs and helped India post a total of 390 runs on the board. He smashed 13 fours and 8 sixes in his innings and batted with a strike rate of 150.91.

After playing a second fiddle to Shubman Gill, Kohli looked completely different and carved his way into his his 74th international ton. With this century, he just made himself 4 hundreds away from breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in 50-over format.

Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is fourth on the list 30 hundreds to his name whereas Rohit Sharma and S Jayasuriya are fourth and fifth on the list with 29 and 28 tons respectively to their name.
