India captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri addressed the Indian media before flying out to the UK on Saturday for the two-and-a-half month tour of Ireland and England.
Talking to the press they said that they were confident of giving a stiff competition to England as they would get sufficient time to get acclimatized to the English conditions.
India's tour will start with a two-match T20I series against Ireland starting from June 27 before travelling to England for a series against them.
Skipper Virat Kohli also dismissed all the rumours surrounding his fitness and said, “I am 100 per cent ready to go. My neck is fine now. I have gone through fitness test as well and my body is feeling fine. ”
He also said that by the time they would play Tests in England, they will be so comfortable that they get a feeling that they were playing at home.
Ravi Shastri said their main focus was the on the pitches and the conditions instead of focusing on the opposition. He also said that they were not even looking at it as an away series.
