The third ODI between India and Sri Lanka saw many records being created and broken. The chief architect behind was none other then Virat Kohli as he played a staggering innings and entered the top five of the all-time highest run-getters in the ODI format.
Virat Kohli played another fine innings as he smashed his 46th ton in the third ODI against Sri Lanka and added another piece of sheer brilliance in his resume. This was his third century in his last four innings as he made a staggering comeback after have a rusty patch.
After registering a ton in the first game of the series, Kohli continue his magnificent form and crafted his innings in a staggering way in third game to notch up his 74th international ton. It was a sensational innings by him as looked very optimistic right from ball 1 and played staggering strokes all over the ground.
Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 166 runs and helped India post a total of 390 runs on the board. He smashed 13 fours and 8 sixes in his innings and batted with a strike rate of 150.91. His knock also saw him bagging few records as well. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar with the most ODI hundreds at home and also broke the record of most tons against opponent with his tally of 10 centuries against Sri Lanka.

But one of the most prominent records that he achieved was he entered the top five of the all-time highest run-getters in the ODI format surpassed Mahela Jayawardene (12650) to become the fifth highest run-getter in this format.
