Team India has departed for Australia on Wednesday, 15th October morning to participate in the 8 white ball games down under. The tour, comprising 3 ODIs followed by 5 T20Is, marks the return of two of India’s stalwart batters, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The duo, who have retired from T20Is and Test cricket, will only be available for the ODI leg of the series starting from October 19 at the Perth Stadium in Perth.

The Indian men’s cricket team departed from New Delhi for Australia

The Indian team departed for Australia from the IGI Airport in the country’s capital, and a massive crowd was witnessed at the airport to spot the team. The crowd was eagerly waiting for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, as the duo will be playing their first International game since the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final in February this year.

Key players spotted at the airport included- Yashasvi Jaiswal, Arshdeep Singh, Virat Kohli, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shubman Gill, Harshit Rana, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Virat Kohli, Dhruv Jurel, Prasidh Krishna, Shreyas Iyer, and Rohit Sharma. All these players are selected for the ODIs, the remaining members of T20I squad will join the team afterwards.

Team India’s first practice session is scheduled on 16th October as the ODI squad will assemble and start their practice in Perth. Shubman Gill, the newly appointed skipper of the ODI side, will be at the helm of things along with the head coach Gautam Gambhir and other support staff.
