It comes as no surprise when England and Australian veterans impose a barrage of unpleasant comments whenever Team India is upscaling arenas in the World Cricket. Time and again, their former players and pundits have engaged in verbal diarrhoea and online battles, all of which has surged with the democratization of cricket discourses on Twitter. Triggering comments and spicy replies have been centric to cricket off late, and often make big headlines.
As Team India is gearing up for the inaugural ICC World Test Championship edition, mind games have already flowered up to divert the players. Recently, former England skipper Michael Vaughan attempted to put Virat Kohli’s image in a shadow and glare up Kane Williamson’s repute, post which some rustling has seized the internet.
Ahead of the inaugural WTC decider at Southampton, starting on June 18, Vaughan blabbered some unhealthy statements that have come to the fore. In his statements, Vaughan demeaned Indian skipper Virat Kohli mentioning that he is not the greatest and is famous because of Instagram. The Englishman reckoned that had Kane Williamson been an Indian, he’d have been the greatest player in the world instead.
India’s veteran Wasim Jaffer, who is known for his sassy Tweets, posted a mouth-zipping mention. In his Tweet, Jaffer mentioned “Extra ungli Hrithik ke paas hai par karta Michael Vaughan hai #ViratKohli #KaneWilliamson.”
The Tweet has a mention of reputed Bollywood actor- Hrithik Roshan, who is known to have an extra finger (thumb) in his hand (by birth). A simple decode of Tweet means that even though Hrithik should be intruding in every single matter because of his extra finger, it is Vaughan who is often seen pricking unnecessary matters at various fronts.
