Vice-captain of India’s women cricket team and opening batter Smriti Mandhana arrived in Australia to feature in Women’s Big Bash League. Mandhana will represent Hobart Hurricanes in the league.
Mandhana to represent Hurricanes in 2019 WBBL
The Indian opening batter featured in the ICC’s women’s world T20 recently and is now all set to play for Hurricanes in the fourth edition of Women’s Big Bash League.
The left-hand player arrived in Australia and had a quick video session in which she is greeting Tasmania.
Mandhana was in fine form during the World T20 in Windies. She scored 178 runs in the tournament and was the third highest run scorer. The half-century against Australia was the highlight of her performance during the ICC event in which India reached the semi-final stage.

Hurricanes will be locking horns against Stars on December 08th to kickstart their campaign for the 2019 WBBL.
And for this encounter, Mandhana arrived in Australia.

Mandhana’s new voyage with Hurricanes
In the previous season, the opening batter featured for Brisbane Heats but for this year she has been signed by Hurricanes.
After signing the deal with Hurricanes, Mandhana had said that she has heard from many players that the Hurricanes group is a great squad to be around and she can’t wait to get to Tasmania for the matches.
Salliann Briggs, the coach of Hobart team had noted that the Indian batter is a proven performer on the world stage, and he cannot wait to see her in purple.

He added that she is an exciting addition not only for them but for the whole competition as well.
The left-hand cricketer has experience of 52 T20Is. She has scored 1046 runs which include six fifties and averages 22.73 with the bat.
