Watch: Jonny Bairstow’s Six Off Trent Boult Ball Smashes SRH’s Fridge, Breaks Glass

Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Jonny Bairstow was running riot against Mumbai Indians. The right-hand batsman made complete use of the powerplays and played aerial strokes at will. Although he played several eye-catching strokes, the six he hit against Trent Boult will stay in fans’ memory as the ball cleared the boundary ropes and smashed the fridge kept in SRH’s dough out.

Responding to MI’s total of 150, SRH openers started watchfully. They scored only 5 runs and then Bairstow decided to accelerate. He smashed left-arm pacer Trent Boult for two consecutive fours on the first two balls. Sensing Bairstow’s aggressive intent, Boult came around the wicket and bowled a slower delivery.

However, the SRH opener, read the variation to perfection and drilled the ball over long-off for a six. Interestingly, Bairstow six smashed the fridge kept in SRH’s dough out and it broke the glass.

Bairstow brilliance and familiar SRH collapse 

After smashing the six that broke the fridge glass in SRH dough out, Bairstow picked one more four against Boult to make it a 18-run over. He continued the aggression and hammered Adam Milne for back to back sixes in the next over. He also canetered K Pandya for a six in the 5th over.

Just when Bairstow looked set to take the game away from Mumbai, he got out in a freakish manner. The SRH opener tried to ramp Krunal Pandya but in the pursuit went too deep in the crease. His back leg crashed on the stumps and thus Bairstow was out hit wicket for 43 runs off 22 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. He added 67 runs from the first wicket in 7.2 overs with David Warner.

Manish Pandey who came at number 3, failed to make an impact and gave a simple catch to long-off against Rahul Chahar. Soon, skipper David Warner was run out and thus SRH find themselves in a familiar batting collapse.
