Jos Buttler Direct Hit Runs Out Shubman Gill

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders’ opening pair of Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill started things on a tentative note. However, in order to sneak in a quick single during the final over of the powerplay, KKR opener Shubman Gill lost his wicket after Rajasthan Royals’ fielder Jos Buttler came up with a pin point direct hit to affect a superb run-out dismissal.

There was absolute no run there but the slow run-scoring approach followed by the two openers forced Gill to take that risk and ended up losing his wicket with just 24 runs on the scoreboard.

It has been a disappointing IPL 2021 campaign so far for the KKR opener who could only manage to score 11 runs off 19 balls in this game.
