Kieron Pollard lights up the CPL T20

Batting first, Trinbago Knight Riders were struggling against some disciplined bowling from Barbados Tridents. When Pollard entered the scene, the Knight Riders were struggling at a score of 87/3 in 13 overs and they had no momentum on their side. However, things changed quickly as Kieron Pollard alongside Darren Bravo counter-attacked. While both batsmen took the aggressive route, Pollard, in particular, was in a destructive mood. The Tridents’ skipper Jason Holder asked New Zealand spinner, Mitchell Santner, to bowl the 17th over of the TKR’s innings. The decision proved to be a wrong one as Bravo and Pollard scored 19 runs in the over.

On the last delivery of the over, Kieron Pollard also hit a majestic one-handed six over the long-off.  Santner bowled a flighted delivery wide on the off-stump. Pollard reaches out for the widish delivery with a one-handed swipe and the power in his forearm is enough to go the distance right over the long-off.

Kieron Pollard scored 41 runs unbeaten off just 17 deliveries. His knock consisted of one boundary and four gigantic 6s. He added 98 runs unbeaten alongside Darren Bravo in the last 4 overs to take TKR to a formidable total of 185/3 in 20 overs. In reply, The Knight Riders bowlers did well to stop Tridents to a score of 166/6 to complete a 19 runs win. Trinbago Knight Riders are now unbeaten after 3 games. They are sitting at the top of the points table with 3 wins. The Tridents, on the other hand, are 5th in the league standings with a single win and 2 losses after 3 games.
