Afghanistan batsman Mohammad Shahzad turned the heat on in the T10 league as he blasted 74 runs off 16 balls. The right-hand batsman broke several records during his stunning display of batting and courtesy of it, his team Rajputs chased the target of 95 runs in just four overs.


Shahzad produces fifty in just 12 balls with zero dot balls 

The Afghanistan batsman opened the innings with former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum and was looking for the big hits from the first over. The right-hand batsman struck eight sixes in his innings and brought up his fifty in just 12 balls which is a record in T10 cricket.

Interestingly in his stay of 16 balls, the opening batsman played no dot balls. His knock comprised of 2 singles, six fours and eight sixes. This is how his innings unfolded-1 4 6 4 4 6 1 6 6 4 6 4 4 6 6 6.

This carnage by Shahzad allowed Rajputs to completely dominate the game and they won the match with six overs to spare.

After the match, the right-hand batsman was asked about the secret behind his success. He replied that the Sharjah cricket ground is his favourite cricket ground and he has played it here earlier as well. He pointed out that they played the Afghanistan Premier League here as well so he had the experience and he just used that today.

Shahzad also revealed that he had complete support of his captain McCullum who was batting at the other end. The Afghanistan cricketer revealed that McCullum asked him to play his shots throughout the innings.
