Fakhar Zaman Run Out: Pakistan Opener’ Controversial Run Out In The Last Over

Social media erupted when Fakhar Zaman was controversially run out in the last over of the second one-day international match between hosts South Africa and visitors Pakistan.
Batting on 193 while entering the final over of the 2nd innings, Zaman looked destined to cross the golden 200-run mark.
Zaman was on strike while facing Lungi Ngidi’s over. The 30-year-old played the ball to the long-off and decided to come back for the 2nd run. But South Africa’s wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock, who pointed to the bowler’s end as if to indicate that the ball was being thrown at the other end. Zaman, with his face towards the bowler’s end, slowed down a bit but a direct throw ran him out.

Fakhar Zaman 193: Quinton de Kock’s Conduct Is Being Questioned

Fakhar Zaman’s valiant effort of 193 runs against South Africa was the second-highest score by a batsman in a losing cause. Zimbabwe’s Charles Coventry, who made 194 not out against Bangladesh in 2009, holds the record for the most runs scored by a batsman in a losing cause.

But no doubt Quinton de Kock’s conduct is being thrown into hot waters, with many considering it as unsportsmanlike conduct.
