Ravindra Jadeja Direct Hit: Ravindra Jadeja is single handedly bossing this game for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Jadeja first displayed a stunning six-hitting show with the bat while blasting a total of 37 runs in a single over bowled by Harshal Patel. The CSK all-rounder is now ruling the stage with 3 crucial wickets with the ball and also affected an incredible run-out dismissal.
It is absolutely suicidal to take a run when the fielder’s name is Ravindra Jadeja and RCB’s Daniel Christian fell at the wrong end of a remarkable fielding effort. During the 10th over of the second innings, AB de Villiers called his partner Christian for a very risky single but Jadeja aimed a bullet throw at the striker’s end to affect a sensational run-out dismissal. Christian was short of the crease as Jadeja once again came in with a superb direct hit at the stumps.
Incidentally, it seemed like Ravindra Jadeja vs Royal Challengers Bangalore contest as the CSK all-rounder displayed a fantastic brand of all-round cricket. Jadeja first scored a tremendous unbeaten innings of 62 runs off just 28 balls that comprised of 5 sixes and 4 fours to help CSK reach 191 for 4 in their 20 overs. The left-arm spinner then picked up the important wickets of Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers and Washington Sundar. Jadeja recorded match-winning figures of 3 for 13 in his quota of four over which included a maiden as well.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s innings in the chase never really kicked on as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and none of the batters tried to spend some time on the crease. Devdutt Padikkal was the top-scorer with 34 runs off 15 balls but overall, it was a poor display of batting from RCB as they managed to score 122 for 9 in their 20 overs. This is the first defeat for RCB in IPL 2021 having won four of their opening matches.
