Former South batsman Rilee Rossouw is one of the players who takes part in franchise T20 cricket all over the world. The left-handed batter showed his class and brilliance with the bat in the Pakistan Super League 2020. Playing for Multan Sultan, Rossouw smashed a superb hundred on Saturday against Quetta Gladiators at the Multan cricket stadium.

Coming out to bat at no.5, Rossouw was on the charge from the beginning of his innings. The South African started taking on the bowlers and started to push Multan’s innings forward. Interestingly, he had only came out to bat in the eighth over. During his innings, Rossouw smashed 10 fours and six sixes. He brought up his hundred off just 43 balls, making it the fastest century in the history of Pakistan Super League. He remained not out at 100 from 44 balls. This was also the second-century knock of this year’s PSL. Kamran Akmal of Peshawar Zalmi was the first score a century this season. Coming back to Rossouw, the 30-year old’s international career was cut short when he decided to shift to the United Kingdom with a Kolpak deal. Since then, he has been playing club cricket all over the world. Other than playing for Hampshire, he has represented Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. Interestingly, Rossouw was with the Quetta Gladiators for the first three seasons, against whom he scored the brilliant hundred at Multan.

Multan solidifies the place at the top

Rossouw’s hundred ensured Multan Sultans put a huge total of 199 for 5 in their 20 overs. Quetta Gladiators battled hard but were always behind the required rate and ended up losing the match. Shane Watson scored a brilliant 80 off 41 balls but it wasn’t enough for Quetta to beat Multan. Quetta could only manage 169. Bilawal Bhatti and Imran Tahir were the best bowlers for Multan as they shared five wickets between them to script a 30 run win. Sultans are currently leading the points table with four wins from five matches.
