Fans make cricket an even greater spectacle with their continued support to the gentlemen’s game. They fill the stadiums all around the globe and create an environment full of energy for the players to thrive on.

Fan takes an absolute screamer!

Hosts Australia were taking on the Sri Lankans in an important game for the women’s T20 world cup at WACA in Perth. Batting first, Sri Lanka were going along nicely with their star player Chamari Atapattu present at the crease.

In the 8th over of the innings, Delissa Kimmince was bowling to Chamari Atapattu and delivered an half volley to the left hander. Atapattu lofted it straight over the long off and cleared the ropes comfortably. But a spectator took an incredible catch leaning forward from his seat and he actually collapsed in process of taking the catch. This moment was captured perfectly by the cameraman on live television.

Australia survive scare to register points on board
One of the firm contenders coming into the tournament, Australia were on the verge of crashing out of their own party. At one stage, chasing 123 for win, Australia were 10/3 and Sri Lanka were sniffing at an upset of a lifetime for them. But Rachael Haynes and captain Meg Lanning combined for a tournament saving partnership for the hosts. Australia were alive to fight another day in this world cup.

Earlier, Chamari Atapattu put on a clinic to provide Sri Lanka a strong start. But once she got out, their innings never took off for the final charge and were limited to a modest 122. Australia won the game by 5 wickets in the end and gathered crucial 2 points.
