Virat Kohli

The ‘agile’ Indian team knows the importance of ground fielding and to set the benchmark, no one is better than the skipper himself. One more instance of brilliant ground fielding was on display in the first ODI.

We all know how much impetus Virat Kohli gives to his fitness and one of the major reasons for this is to be lightning-fast on the ground while fielding. During the first ODI, Kohli pulled yet another miraculous run-out which could well be the turning point of the game.

Virat Kohli does a Jonty Rhodes

The third-wicket partnership between Henry Nicholls and Ross Taylor was looking very intimidating as they were tackling the Indian bowlers with ease. Once again, something extraordinary was needed on the field to remove one of the two batters and once again it was the skipper Virat Kohli who took the initiative and with a brilliant diving throw removed Henry Nicholls.

Virat did the same in the fourth T20I

This was the second run-out caused by the skipper on this tour so far. The first run-out he affected came in the fourth T20I when a relay throw from Shardul Thakur got the best of Colin Munro who was fighting a lone battle with the bat in that game.

The match is nicely poised

Marching on a commanding debut century from Shreyas Iyer and late blitz from KL Rahul and Kedar Jadhav, India posted a humongous 347 for the loss of 4 wickets in 50 Overs.

However, the Blackcaps are showing intensity in the chase and till the news was written, they were 189 for the loss of 3 wickets from 32 overs. Ross Taylor was batting on 42, whereas, the skipper Tom Latham was at 13 from 17 deliveries. The host still needs another 159 runs from 18 overs with 7 wickets to spare.
