In the second innings, Australia once again lost key wickets at the top as skipper Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade failed to contribute much with the bat. Aussie all-rounder Mitchell Marsh scored back-to-back half-centuries. However, Australia suffered yet another batting collapse having lost 7 wickets for just 39 runs after which they got bowled out for 140 runs in 19.2 overs. For West Indies, leg-spinner Hayden Walsh was the pick of the bowlers having taken 3 crucial wickets. Sheldon Cottrell also finished with two scalps.

“One of my best innings for me, was hitting quite well, it quite worked out, my role is to bat as deep as possible. I didn’t do anything different, just did the same thing like last game, the partnerships were important. Was looking to bat deep and give the gutsy a chance to bat at the other end. I’m trying to bat well and finish off the innings as well. I have never batted with him before, nice to bat with him, he was just telling me to keep going and do what I did best. Allowed me to trust myself,” said Shimron Hetmyer who was adjudged the Player of the Match.

The WI vs AUS 3rd T20I match is scheduled to take place on 13 July at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia.
