When Chris Gayle told KL Rahul ‘If Rashid Khan comes on, I am going to finish him’

The 21 year old wily leg spinner from Afghanistan in Rashid Khan is considered as the #1 spinner in the shortest format of the game across the world. But he was taken to the cleaners by the universe boss in the IPL game.

This interesting incident was discussed in the latest chat show named open nets hosted by Mayank Agarwal in which the man himself in Chris Gayle and KL Rahul participated.

When Gayle decided to finish Rashid Khan!

The universe BOSS from Caribbean is a global superstar in this format of the game. No bowler have been spared by this gigantic cricketer. In IPL 2018, Kings XI was put into a do or die situation and they had to win the game against SRH and that is when Gayle decided to unleash himself on Rashid Khan. Here’s what KL Rahul had to say about Chris Gayle’s knock that day

I remember one instance in 2018, he (Chris Gayle) was hungry, he was angry, and he wanted to win. We had a match against the Sunrisers, and he told me, ‘If Rashid Khan comes on, I am gonna finish him because I don't like a spinner coming and staring me down. If he stares at me, I am going to finish him'

The southpaw scored a 63 ball 104 run knock that included 11 massive sixes. In the 14th over of the game, Chris Gayle tonked 4 consecutive sixes off Rashid Khan. Kings XI eventually won the game by 14 runs. KL Rahul further added

He (Gayle) said, ‘Give me the single, I want to play six balls against Rashid Khan'. And I think that's the first time I saw Chris' give-me-this attitude. He had a clear plan and I think he got a hundred that game

Chris Gayle complains about KL Rahul!

When Mayank Agarwal asked the pair about their conversations in the middle, Chris Gayle said,

You know what we talk in the middle? Rahul wants the strike, always. He says, ‘Don't worry boss, I'll take him on.' He wants the strike, all the time
