Harpreet Brar IPL: Seems like stuff out of sheer imagination, a script of a classic sports movie perhaps. What Harpreet Brar has managed to do in the Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2021 game so far, you can bet your life that even the 25-year-old wouldn’t have given even a slightest of thought to the idea of picking wickets of legendary batsmen, at least in this match. But he just did and forces us to believe that impossible is just an idea tossed by a weakling. Anything is achievable. Experience can hold only so much advantage.
Harpreet Brar played only three games before getting his maiden match in IPL 2021. He featured once in IPL 2020 and got only two games in the season before that. It’s not hard to assume that Harpreet is on the fringes of the roster, only in the team to add to resources.
But the young spinner from Punjab stamped his authority on the game with a wicket of none other than Virat Kohli. The RCB captain was stepping out of the crease one time too many but he was eventually undone when the ball kept low and hit the stump.
Kohli’s dismissal set in motion a collapse nobody saw coming. Brar then bowled Glenn Maxwell out with the Australian perplexed and incredulous all the way back to the dug-out.
If those two wickets pushed RCB to the brink of this game, the chase was all but done when Brar outfoxed AB de Villiers, who hit straight into the hands of PBKS captain KL Rahul.
Post-Mortem Of PBKS vs RCB IPL 2021 Match
Many of us may take Harsheet Brar as a rookie, but the 25-year-old has played three games in two seasons in the IPL. To be fair, he didn’t do enough to warrant a spot in the Punjab team, formerly known as Kings XI Punjab. Now that has changed. He will be one of the first names in PBKS’ next game.
