    India vs England: India and England locked horns in the semi-final 2 of the T20 World Cup 2022 at Adelaide Oval. It was a high-pressure game that saw England stepping up and making a mockery of the Indian team. They made look the Rohit Sharma-led side ordinary and thrashed them by 10 wickets to join Pakistan and enter the final in style.

    Asked to bat first, India had a poor start as they lost KL Rahul early for just 5 runs. However, after that skipper, Rohit Sharma (27) and Virat Kohli steadied the innings and stitched 47 runs partnership before Sharma was back in the hut. India then suffered another blow as Suryakumar Yadav too perished to 14 runs to leave his side tottering at 75/3.

    But after that Virat Kohli (50) and Hardik Pandya (63) smashed the fifties to power India to a total of 168 runs on the board. For England, Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures of 3/43.

    Chasing the target, India had no answers to the onslaught by English openers. Alex Hales (86*) and Jos Buttler (80*) took Indian bowlers to the cleaners and smashed them all over the park for their unbeaten 170 runs. They recorded the highest partnership and eliminated India to join Pakistan for the final at MCG.

    English opener Alex Hales was awarded Player of the Match in the semi-final between India and England. The right-hander counter-attacked from ball 1 and took Indian bowlers to the cleaners. The opening batter played a staggering innings of unbeaten 86 runs in just 47 balls and won the game for his side. His innings included 4 fours and 7 sixes. He stitched unbeaten 170 runs partnership with Jos Buttler (80) and made sure that his side enter the final in style.
