Delhi Capitals missed the title in the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2023. They lost the final to Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets after qualifying for the final directly after finishing at the top of the points table.

They didn’t make many changes to their squad ahead of the auctions for the WPL 2024. The Delhi-based franchise retained 15 players and released only 3 players from their squad.

In the auctions, they went big for the Aussie all-rounder Annabel Sutherland and shelled out INR 2 crore to secure her services. In addition to that, they also signed Aparna Mondal and Ashwani Kumari for INR 10 lakh each.
