Delhi and Rajasthan will battle each other in the 34th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. Recently, Delhi suffered a minor hiccup where few of their personnels tested positive for COVID 19. However, the team seemed unphased by that as they dominated in their last match.
Rajasthan is currently at number 3 of the points table with 4 wins. The two teams are in the midst of a winning streak and the crowd would love to see who will break first in their upcoming match. Delhi are bouncing back after losing a bunch of matches and the team’s fans are eager to see their comeback.
Rishabh Pant’s team fought their way through COVID 19. With Mitchell Marsh being tested positive for COVID 19, the fans were worried about the future of the franchise in the Indian T20 League 2022. However, Delhi proved everyone wrong in their last match with Punjab. Bowling first, the Delhi bowlers stopped the hard-hitting batters of Punjab on a total of 115 runs. Bowlers Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Lalit Singh and Khaleel Ahmad picked 2 wickets each for the team. Pacer Mustafizur Rahman contributed his bit and plucked 1 wicket after his four overs.
After dominating the field with the white bowl, Delhi stood their ground with bat as well. The team chased down the target of 115 runs in just 10 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Openers Prithvi Shaw (41 runs) and David Warner (60 runs) absolutely butchered the Punjab bowlers at the start of the innings. Surely, winning a match with COVID 19 still looming in the team must be a great feeling for the players.
Rajasthan defeated Kolkata in one of the most intriguing matches in the history of Indian T20 League on 18th April. Batting first, Sanju Samson’s team set a gigantic score of 217 runs. Opener Jos Buttler batted magnificently and hit his second century of this season (103 runs). Buttler’s innings had 5 mighty sixes and a strike rate of 168.85. Skipper Sanju Samson played a decent innings of 38 runs in just 19 balls.
It was the spectacular performance from Yuzvendra Chahal that stopped the Kolkata team at 210 runs. Chahal took a jaw-dropping hattrick and dismissed Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Mavi and Pat Cummins. By the end of the night, Chahal had taken 5 wickets for the team. Additionally, Obed McCoy bagged 2 wickets and Prasidh Krishna and Ravichandran Ashwin took 1 wicket each.
The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium assists the batsman as revealed by the average score of 180 runs. A true pitch, short boundaries and quick outfield often help the batsman and this time too we will have some high-scoring matches.
