The second Test match between England and India was at its exciting best. While tailenders put England under immense pressure by scoring runs, bowlers on the other hand made sure that hosts’ chances of winning the match at Lord’s are negligible.

With only two results possible in the final session, Indian bowlers bowled their heart out to bowl out England and win the match for their team to go 0-1 up in the five-Test series.

Indian bowlers continued to trouble English batsmen in the third and final session of the match. Jasprit Bumrah waved his magic just on the third delivery after the Tea as he claimed his second wicket of the day – the most important scalp, in English skipper Joe Root for 33 runs.

After the wicket of Root, Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali join hands to rescue the English innings and kept blocking for their 95 ball partnership. But it was only a matter of time until Mohammed Siraj founded outside edge of Ali’s bat to send him back in the dressing room and followed it with a dismissal of Sam Curran on the very first delivery to remove southpaw for a King Pair at Lord’s.

Jos Buttler and Ollie Robinson then gave Indians a mini heart-attack for their 76-ball partnership but Jasprit Bumrah deceived latter with a slower ball to trap him in LBW. The visitors had a sigh of relief when in the very next over Mohammed Siraj removed Butler for 25 runs and the followed it with the wicket of James Anderson to win the match by 151 runs and go 0-1 up in the series.

Indian bowlers were on the top of their marks in England’s second innings at Lord’s. Defending the target of 272 runs, a fired-up duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami sent both the English openers packing for a duck in the first two overs of the innings. If this was not enough senior Indian pacer trapped Haseeb Hameed in LBW and then followed it with the wicket of Jonny Bairstow in a similar fashion just at the stroke of Tea.

After the tea Jasrpit Bumrah removed the biggest threat for the visitors in Joe Root. The Indian pacers bowled their heart out and managed to find edges of batsmen’s bats but they were unlucky as some didn’t carry to the fielders and some were dropped. Ravindra Jadeja however, got Moeen Ali but eventually, it turned out to be a no a ball.

Just when the partnership between Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler started to look threatening Mohammed Siraj added his name into the wickets column by removing the former and followed it a wicket of Sam Curran on the next ball. The right-arm pacer then did the further damage when he removed Jos Buttler and James Anderson to seal the second Test match of the series.
