Mackay, January 05 Saturday at 01:45 PM IST
Brisbane Heat would be eyeing to secure a spot in the next round when travelling to Harrup Park, Mackay for their next encounter with the Adelaide Strikers on Saturday. Heat will then face off Melbourne Renegades on Sunday at the same venue.
Placed third in the ladder with 12 points, Brisbane Heat has secured six wins in ten encounters while have faced defeats in the rest of outings. They are coming after securing 58 runs win against Hobart Hurricanes in the previous encounter and would be hoping to carry forward the momentum.
Adelaide Strikers are languishing at the bottom second spot with five points coming off just two wins in nine encounters. Strikers are going through a rough patch and have failed to gain momentum this edition. They would be looking to salvage their pride with a couple of wins in the remaining encounters.
Both the sides started their campaign against each other in which Brisbane Heat faced 36 runs defeat. Put into bat, Strikers posted 172-7 on the board with the help of Sophie Devine’s 89 of 55 deliveries. In response, Heat fell short by 36 runs despite Beth Mooney’s (63 of 57) and Kirby Short’s (62 of 55) deliveries.
